Cowhide
A longstanding staple of bootmaking for good reason, cowhide leather combines proven durability with supple comfort. Incredibly versatile, it’s a timeless option for dress boots and nights out, and equally rugged and ready for hard work when oiled and treated. Whichever you choose, this all-rounder does it all effortlessly.
Store Your Boots
- Store your boots in a dry and dark place.
- Alternate boot-wearing days to let boots properly dry out.
- Ideally, store with tissue, newspaper, or a cedar shoe tree that does not stretch the leather.
These methods above will help minimize moisture and extend the life of your boots.
How To Clean
- Brush dirt off after every wear with a horsehair brush.
- Wipe residue with a dry cloth and spot clean.
- Do not use harsh solvents.
NOTE: Avoid getting these leather soles too wet. They are not water-resistant and the stain may transfer.
Condition
- While boots are still damp, lightly apply conditioner only on the vamp and shaft and avoid applying to the outsole edges as the dye may trander. Apply the conditioner ideally with fingers, but you can use a brush or cloth.
- Let conditioner dry and then buff with a horsehair brush.
- Condition every 1 to 2 months, clean and shine to preference.
Polish & Shine
- Polishing will leave the boots with a glossy finish. We suggest avoiding colored polishes since they can alter the color of your boots.
- After your boots have dried, apply a small amount of wax-based polish to all the areas you wish to shine, avoiding the outsole edges of your metallic bovine boots.
- Let the polish dry and then brush off the boot with a soft cloth.
- Buff with a horsehair brush to the desired level of shine.
